Purple Shoes rock. Just sayin.

Can you believe how hot this dress is?!

“I’m Getting Marrieeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!!”

Look at the pride in Dad’s face. It was such an amazing moment to see him walk his daughter down the aisle.

Darcy’s reaction to seeing Barb walking down the aisle. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

This was the first time I have ever seen this in a ceremony… they had to share with everyone the story of how they met! It almost turned into a roast of the two of them! It was awesome!

They did it! They did it! :)

Limoooooooooooooo

I love veil shots!

Probably my favorite ring shot so far!

This was my first wedding at Brock House, and I loved it!

First dance

I can only assume “Livin’ on a Prayer”. EVERYONE sings like that for “Livin’ on a Prayer”

He partied pretty much all day though. He can rest, its ok. :)

I met up with Barb and the Ladies at the Sutton Place Hotel. Once they were all purdy’d up it was time to drive to the ceremony at St. Augustine’s Church. We laughed, we cried, we totally saw Barb + Darcy get married! After the ceremony we convoyed to the reception which was being held at the beautiful Brock House. A whole lot of awesome happened that day. There, that’s all I can say. Talk amongst yourselves, I’ll give you a topic: Barb & Darcy are the new Brangelina, but way cooler and without all the adopted children. Discuss.
A special thank you to Nick for helping me out with the shooting and lugging around the equipment! You rock so much they should actually NAME a rock after you! A big one! ….With glasses… that likes Clubhouse Sandwiches…. k, I’m just rambling now. :) Seriously though, thank you!

I had so much fun yesterday with Barb and Darcy on their wedding day, and there are SOOO many awesome images of them coming soon! These guys were amazing! I got home at 2:30am with a big smile on my face, these guys seriously know how to par-tay!
Check back soon for more! Happy Sunday everyone!
Meet Joanna and Richard. These crazy cats found me via their friend (and now offically my friend, just cause he’s awesome) Kris… remember Kris? As in Ashley + Kris, one of the couples I shot last year when they rocked out at their wedding?? Check out the photo of the groomsmen, 2nd guy from camera right, there’s Richard! Hi Richard! I absolutely LOVE it when I get referred to in a circle of close friends because every time I go to a wedding its like a reunion with everyone!
Joanna and Richard are super fun to be around, they had me in stitches the entire time! Richard is a master of one liner’s, and Joanna is not only beautiful and practically a super genius, but her laugh is contagious! You seriously can’t help being happy around these guys!!!
I had a wicked time with you guys on Friday, and for the record I told you Joanna that the sun would come out for us!! :)
I can’t wait for your wedding in July! :) (which P.S. everyone, they are having their ‘cocktail’ reception at the Vancouver Art Gallery! How freaking cool is that?!)

I’m a wee bit nervous posting these because this was my first ever Trash the Dress session. I am very happy with how they turned out, so its maybe just the fact that I’m eager to show everyone the images!
The day after the wedding (also known as the day of my very first experience with an earthquake) Amy + Octavio, Grit and myself, and a handful of friends and family hopped on a bus (that I believe was owned by Octavio’s Uncle?) and set out for a great day of sunshine and shooting! We had already planned a route the day before the wedding so we knew where and when to be there!
We started off with a little kayaking around the hotel…

Then we went to Bahía de Puerto Marques and walked around a few side streets.

When we arrived at Acapulco Bay we kicked everyone off the bus and took a few photos of the lovely Bride and Groom. I LOVE the colors in this bus!!

A few in Acapulco Bay

Our Final Destination for the day, a GORGEOUS beach where the sun goes down right over the water! I loved it!

My favorite!!

Kabooooooom!!!!

This is a quick snap of the friends and family that came with us on the Trash the Dress trip! (except Jimmy, who was busy trying to get the coconut he bought cut into smaller pieces so he could eat it… thats another story altogether!)

Look at that sunset!! Are you kidding me?!!?!?

This was the first time Grit and I combined our efforts and offered a Wedding Photographer AND Wedding Hairstylist Package. We had an amazing time and I think it went extremely well, so I am pleased to announce that this is something we are now offering on a regular basis! If you are a bride-to-be and are looking for a Wedding Photographer AND a Hairstylist for your wedding, please contact us at 778 878 4531 or by email.

Up next, Amy + Octavio’s Trash The Dress session!! :) See ya soon!
You could feel it. You didn’t have to look or listen for you to know, with absolute certainty, today was the day. It was like the deafening silence one only hears about where your dreams, ones you never thought possible, come true right before your eyes as if by magic. A gentle, soothing vibration, where you know deep down that everything isn’t just alright, its perfect.
This isn’t animated. This isn’t a movie. This is the beginning of a True Life, 100%, in-the-flesh “Happily Ever After”.
This is Amy and Octavio’s day.

Amy and Octavio chose to do a “First Look”, which allowed them to see each other before the ceremony. This is a very special, intimate moment that is becoming quite popular with brides and grooms. I have read that some people are worried that it might take the ’surprise’ out of the traditional First Look as the bride walks down the aisle, but many couples that have done it say it actually makes the ceremony more special and wouldn’t have changed it for the world!

There are many more photos coming in the next while, including more from the wedding, and the following day from Amy and Octavio’s Trash The Dress session all around Acapulco!
Thank you for looking! Please feel free to leave a comment and let Amy + Octavio know what you think of the images!
