Amy + Octavio: Trash The Dress in Acapulco

May 5, 2009

Note: I have a new blog! If you would like to view tons of recent weddings + engagement sessions, please visit my new blog!

I’m a wee bit nervous posting these because this was my first ever Trash the Dress session. I am very happy with how they turned out, so its maybe just the fact that I’m eager to show everyone the images!

The day after the wedding (also known as the day of my very first experience with an earthquake) Amy + Octavio, Grit and myself, and a handful of friends and family hopped on a bus (that I believe was owned by Octavio’s Uncle?) and set out for a great day of sunshine and shooting! We had already planned a route the day before the wedding so we knew where and when to be there!

We started off with a little kayaking around the hotel…

Then we went to Bahía de Puerto Marques and walked around a few side streets.

When we arrived at Acapulco Bay we kicked everyone off the bus and took a few photos of the lovely Bride and Groom. I LOVE the colors in this bus!!

Our Final Destination for the day, a GORGEOUS beach where the sun goes down right over the water! I loved it!

Sarah: These images are breath taking! There is nothing to be nervous about in posting these! They make me want to get married all over again so I can do this!! Great job Michael!

JoshJerrid: Bravo! Job well done! Love the colors used and the shots on the beach, your first TTD is a huge success!

Jamie Delaine: That second one = gorgeous. You are improving at a mad rate, my friend!

John Heil: nice job buddy! really great stuff.... totally dig the bus shots!

Kayci: Stunning! Great job as per usual!!!!

Ilan: Amazing set! Can't believe you convinced them to get wet, I think it's the first time I saw something like this:)

Kyla Kennedy: Mike WOW!! these are soooo soooo frikkin awesome!!! Seriously i LOVE them!

Jaime Mayorquin: All Amazing Images!!! I think my favorites this time were the ones on the bus, especially the set of three.Their warm facial expressions reflect the bright colors that frame them. (Damn you Mike! You made blue plastic bus seats look beautiful.) Placing them in this comic book backdrop works great for representing this wedding as the action-packed adventure that it was. (deadly flu outbreaks, wild winds during the ceremony, 6.0 earthquakes, jimmy's jokes.) I'm surprised we all made it out alive. (by the way. thanks for explaining why jimmy was missing in the group picture. that made me LOL.)

Gabi: Hi Mike! Awesome pictures...makes me even more mad we never got a chance to get ours done before we moved! Well done.

laura-dolcepics: Wow all of these are amazing! Great work Mike. Love that big splash!

Carrie: LOVE IT mike! beautiful. the bus photos are so brilliant and colorful. then the trash the dress photos are GORGEOUS. Epic composition. Take my photo!

Amber Hughes: Ok seriously... HOW did I miss this last post on your Acapulco couple?! I'm seriously loving that bus... and the shot with the bananas? Pure awesomeness. :)

Sammy: These pictures are amazing!!! We love Puerto Marques and want to know where exactly you had your wedding ceremony. Thanks!!
