WPPI 2012 – On Film

My first order from Richard Photo Lab came back today. Words cannot express the feeling I have seeing my images on film again. The whole process is breathtaking, and I cannot wait to bring this more into my business workflow.

Images shot with my Seagul 4B TLR, Canon 1V, and Lomo LC-Wide.

Film used: Kodak Portra 160, Portra 400, Ektar 100, Ilford HP5, Neopan 400.

Cheers,

Michael

Behind the Scenes #1 : Engagement Session // Bridal Session

One thing I have been meaning to do for quite some time now is to add more video to my blog. I like the idea of showing a few “Behind the Scenes” moments, just to give a better understanding (I hope) to what exactly goes down during a session.

This is the first of many I believe, so I would love to hear what you think. I am by no means a professional video editor… iMovie is good enough for me. :)

Special thanks to Sachin Khona for recording a few videos for me. You rock, my friend!

P.S. Have other blog-video ideas besides “behind the scenes”? Drop me a line and let me know!

Stanley Park Bridal / Engagement Session

Just over a month ago I got an email from the lovely Jinghang saying her and her fiance were flying in from China to Canada for a months vacation. They really loved the idea of having an engagement session here so they contacted me, and immediately I was jumping to start!

** Most of this session was shot with film, so there will be another post in a week or so showing off those images. For now, here are a handful of images I shot with my 5DmkII. **

A special tip of the hat to my amazing friend Sachin Khona. Kept me steady and flowing. Cheers dude. Can’t wait to see what you got!

WPPI 2012 Las Vegas

I was in Vegas last week for a photographer conference / tradeshow. I didn’t get a chance to shoot as much for fun as I had anticipated, but I had an absolute blast with friends and learned so much my head is still hurting. Most of my photos were on film, so those will have to wait a few weeks, but for now here are a few digital images I can show you. Special lovin’ to my amazingly talented photographer friends Sachin, Amber, John, Nick. Credits of the two photos of me go to Mr. John Bello. He just got an iPhone today, and couldn’t be happier. Nick shot the sunny image of myself, and I’ve never looked sexier. Thanks dude.

Cheers,

Michael
